Our assignment was to create a music video. I chose the song “Morning Mr. Magpie” by Radiohead, and decided to try my hand at stop-motion animation. This is pretty much my first attempt at claymation. It is also my favorite thing I have done for school, ever!

Here is my first assignment for Motion Graphics for Video and Film. We were to take a print piece we had done previously and create a motion graphic from it. I chose my personal identity project from last year.

In the personal identity assignment, I created animals and other characters from my initials A.W., so here are a few of them in motion. The animation had to end with the final print piece, in this case the main logo.

Here’s an old assignment from Media Design a couple years ago. I always liked this one, because I personally thought it was pretty funny! I didn’t post this initially but now I am remedying that. For this assignment we were to arrange photos in a way that told a clear narrative. We could take photos ourselves, or we could use found images. I went with the former to tell a story of an apple who meets an unfortunate end. The one thing I could have done to make this piece a little stronger would be to use one red apple and one green, so that it was more clear that the two apples were different characters.

Here is is:

For this assignment, we were to go around taking pictures of stuff we thought was cool. Once we had our pictures, we were supposed to find a theme or a story from the photos. I found that I took a lot of pictures of fake animals, and I went from there.

I would say I am relatively happy with this, although I don’t feel like it’s my best work. What do you think?
