Here is the final draft for the GrassRoots Lawn & Garden Care website. (Assignment 6) A few changes but nothing too drastic.

For Assignment 6, we had to design a web site for some kind of product or service. I chose a lawn care service. Feedback was mostly positive, but I have a few more tweaks.

For assignment 5, we were supposed to create an instructional booklet on a topic that does not usually require instruction. So of course, I chose “How to Enjoy Beer.”
My original concept was “How to Survive a Zombie Attack.” Eventually, however, I decided that the topic had been done to death, and much better than I could ever. I am not a huge expert on Zombie movies, and they say write what you know, so of course I chose to write about beer!
I think the design turned out better than my original Zombie booklet design, also.

Well, I still have a lot of work to do on assignment 4, but I think it’s close. It was very challenging as I anticipated it would, and it was a bit of a struggle. I have three weeks for revisions, so I am going to put that assignment aside for a week and begin work on the next one.
We are supposed to produce an instructional pamphlet on any topic we choose. So I am going to write instructions on how to kill a Zombie! I think this can be a really fun assignment!

** Updated April 8, 2009, 1:23 a.m.** Ok, I did a little more work on it and came up with this:
** Original post:
Working on a different logo. I have changed the name of the event and a drastic design of the logo. I am thinking this would make a pretty nice tattoo but not a good logo for a 5K run! Also, I need to fix that footprint so it looks more like a sneaker and less like a boot, and to integrate the puzzle piece into the tread better.

Well, I turned in assignment four. Got a lot of positive feedback but definitely much still to do. I’ve already posted the logo design, but I think I will wait to post the rest until I have had a chance to work on it a little bit. I am hoping to have an intermediate draft before the final draft is due on the 11th.
Anyway, off to New York!!

Here is the rough draft version of the logo design for Assignment 4. The ragged edge on the puzzle piece may still need a little work.

This week we are supposed to design an Announcement Letter and a Billboard for a 5K run to raise awareness for autism, as well as a logo for the event. The purpose is to increase donations and website visits. At this point, I am still in the thinking and research stage, so I guess I’ll see what I come up with. This could be a fairly challenging assignment.

For Assignment 2 in Words & Images, we had to design a sales sheet for a Home Depot house brand shower head and make it sound awesome.
