Bear

Here’s a character for my next animation! He’s a polar bear! For this guy, I am trying out Roma Plasticina. Once I got the clay heated up it was great to work with. The clay is white, which is, of course, why he’s a polar bear. Hopefully I will have an animation test soon.

Here are some preview photographs:

Work-in-progress: Movie Posters

This semester we are creating posters for a Director Series. We are to choose a director and three movies by that director, and then create a poster for each that work together as a cohesive whole. My director is Christopher Nolan, and the movies are Memento, the Prestige, and Inception.

These are the second drafts. In the first draft they were extremely minimalist and flat. They are still fairly minimalist but are more three-dimensional. For the next draft, I am going to lighten the background and add a little bit of color. For the most part, however, I am liking the monochrome.

Assignment 6 – Rough Draft

For Assignment 6, we had to design a web site for some kind of product or service. I chose a lawn care service. Feedback was mostly positive, but I have a few more tweaks.

Assignment 5

Well, I still have a lot of work to do on assignment 4, but I think it’s close. It was very challenging as I anticipated it would, and it was a bit of a struggle. I have three weeks for revisions, so I am going to put that assignment aside for a week and begin work on the next one.

We are supposed to produce an instructional pamphlet on any topic we choose. So I am going to write instructions on how to kill a Zombie! I think this can be a really fun assignment!

Another crack at a logo design

** Updated April 8, 2009, 1:23 a.m.** Ok, I did a little more work on it and came up with this:

new-logo4

** Original post:

Working on a different logo. I have changed the name of the event and a drastic design of the logo. I am thinking this would make a pretty nice tattoo but not a good logo for a 5K run! :-) Also, I need to fix that footprint so it looks more like a sneaker and less like a boot, and to integrate the puzzle piece into the tread better.

Assignment 4 feedback

Well, I turned in assignment four. Got a lot of positive feedback but definitely much still to do. I’ve already posted the logo design, but I think I will wait to post the rest until I have had a chance to work on it a little bit. I am hoping to have an intermediate draft before the final draft is due on the 11th.

Anyway, off to New York!!

Preliminary Logo design for Assignment 4

Here is the rough draft version of the logo design for Assignment 4. The ragged edge on the puzzle piece may still need a little work.

Assignment 4

This week we are supposed to design an Announcement Letter and a Billboard for a 5K run to raise awareness for autism, as well as a logo for the event. The purpose is to increase donations and website visits. At this point, I am still in the thinking and research stage, so I guess I’ll see what I come up with. This could be a fairly challenging assignment.
